The Tops are a happy little band out of Sioux City (that's in Iowa you know). Being from a smaller sort of market, Sioux City musicians often find themselves in bands composed of members with whom they've played in previous bands. That is indeedy the case with the Muffintops… Russ and Chris played for years in Hippie Go Lucky, and both played with Rick in The Smoking Clams. So when the Muffintops formed in 2011 it wasn't so much a new band as it was three friends jamming on songs they've always wanted to play.
With a set list made up of songs as diverse as Big Head Todd's "In The Morning," Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues" and Link Wray's "Jack the Ripper," The Muffintops are guaranteed to play something... interesting.
